Deaf Awareness week
by Iain Fergusson - Tuesday, 23 September 2008, 02:57 PM

This week is Deaf Awareness Week and the National Foundation for the Deaf are running a campaign "Listen Loud and Lose It"

22nd - 29th September...

NFD have done some startling research and found that nearly half of the population under 25 have been exposed to some type of hearing damage from listening to music either live or via an ipod...

Take a look at the stats yourself and remember in this trade your ears are your tools... so you need to look after them...

We all like to listen to music LOUD at times, but hearing damage is irreversable... Once the damage is done it's too late

Some helpful ways to look after your hearing: See attachment and for further info check out the Bebo Site:

Missing Items On Campus
by Gretchen McKinley - Tuesday, 19 August 2008, 11:24 AM

Here at MAINZ we like to maintain an atmosphere that is a fun, enjoyable learning environment.

We would like to remain this status and unfortunately we have had items going missing/ stolen; it is clear that this is an 'insiders' job, due to time of day items went missing.

MAINZ wants to ensure that students are protected within this environment.

The items have been secretly marked and WILL BE FOUND!

Please return items to Lost and Found Property box in Gretchen's office.
